Get to Know the 2017 INFINITI QX30

The 2017 INFINITI QX30 was officially introduced to the public all the way back in August of this year. Now that we have it in stock for our customers in San Diego, CA, we have to say we’re impressed. We think you will be too once you get to know this crossover that puts a lot of style, performance, and luxury into a pint-sized package.

The INFINITI QX30 is the newest entry into the new, but already-crowded, compact luxury crossover segment. It shows some of its hatchback DNA (it’s derived from the Europe-only INFINITI Q30 hatch), but adds ride height (which varies across trim levels) and optional all-wheel drive. It’s sprightly on blacktop thanks to a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 208 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, coupled to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. With six trim levels and plenty of high-tech add-ons, there are dozens of ways to customize this crossover to your liking.

Speaking of liking, early reviews of the 2017 INFINITI QX30 are positive. Car and Driver praises the “expressive design,” but also notes that the “direct and linear steering feels tight and responds quickly to inputs, with a pleasing effort buildup in corners.” The Houston Chronicle calls it a “world class compact car,” while Forbes predicts that the vehicle will “revitalize the brand.”

Our verdict: it’s been a long wait since the INFINITI QX30 was first shown as a concept vehicle in 2015. The wait has proven worthwhile; with the INFINITI QX30, the company has a definite winner on its hands.
