Infiniti Introduces New V6 Engine

Infiniti is excited to announce they are releasing a new engine. It is a lightweight 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine. This V6 is all new and part of the new and exclusive VR-series powertrain family. Want to know more? Keep reading for more information.

Infiniti has a long standing history with the V6 powertrain. This engine has been engineered to let the driver, drive! It offers increased power and torque as well as higher levels of efficiency. It has a lighter and more compact cylinder block that contributes to an overall smaller engine. It weighs 429.5 pounds, which is 39.1 pounds less than its predessor. Some 2016 Infiniti models will be equipped with this engine, and Infiniti will continue to have this engine in the model years to follow. It will come in two power levels 300 and 400 horsepower.

This engine will not only be packed with power, but technology to deliver power, torque and efficiency. The 300 horsepower version will be delivered at 6400 rpm and 295 lb-ft torque. The 400 horsepower version will be delivered at 6400 rpm and 350 lb-ft torque. The 300 horsepower version will be equipped with a single water pump and the 400 horsepower will use two water pumps both to help manage heat. The 400 horsepower version will also have a speed sensor that will boost power to the turbo system by 30 percent. Overall efficiency is up by 6.7 percent, making it the best-in-class power-to-efficency ratio for the 400 horsepower version.
