Infiniti Q50 Awarded The Ritvo Design & Elegance Award

Infiniti is excited to announce that the Infiniti Q50 sport sedan was recently awarded the Ritvo Design & Elegance Award by the New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA). Keep reading for more information on this award and why the Infiniti Q50 won.

This award was named after the late Gene Ritvo who was a NEMPA member and veteran concours photographer. It recognizes the finest in automotive design at the annual Automotive Excellence awards held during the press association’s annual meeting on the MIT campus in Cambridge, Mass each year. To be in the running for this award the vehicle must be nominated with input from the Larz Anderson Auto Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

“Our friend Gene Ritvo would have been proud to see the Infiniti Q50 take home an award bearing his name,” said Craig Fitzgerald, NEMPA president. “In its thoughtful design, it conveys the class and the sophistication, of which Gene was a pure devotee. NEMPA couldn’t agree more with the expressed views of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Larz Anderson Auto Museum that selected the Infiniti Q50 this year.”

The Infiniti Q50 was introduced in 2013. When introduced, there was a whole new design, or a new design language as Infiniti referred to it. This design and new technologies, like the Direct Adaptive steering, would be incorporated in to many other Infiniti vehicles.
